How You Can Help

Helping Opportunities

YOU CAN HELP IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS!

There are many ways you can help us to achieve our goals in animal rescue, here is just a partial listing.  Perhaps something here might peak your interest and if so feel free to submit an volunteer application at any time. There is always a place for someone that would like to give of his or her time, no matter how much or how little. There are many needs within our organization and without a doubt we can find something that will fit you just right.

FOSTERING

Nothing compares to the feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment than being a foster family to a homeless pet. We are always on the lookout for loving, caring families that will be willing to open up their homes to a needy dog or cat. We will equip you with all the supplies and resources needed to successfully care for your foster animal. Veterinary care is supplied along with food and the proper equipment necessary in order to meet the needs of your companion.

VOLUNTEER COMMITTEES

Not all work is fostering. If you’d like to help, but due to circumstances you cannot take in a foster, you might consider one of many other ways to get involved. We have several committees that would welcome your input and assistance. Several are listed below:

As with all non-profit organizations you can never have enough hands to help out in this area. The Event Committee is responsible for planning imaginative and resourceful ways to raise money. If you like to roll up your sleeves and get involved in the inner-workings of an organization this might be your cup of tea!
This committee is responsible for the recruiting and training of new volunteers making sure each and every one not only has the knowledge of what our organization is about but how they can best utilize their talents. If you like working with enthusiastic and energetic people this is where you want to be!

Other Opportunities And Needs

We may just be in need of your special skills but not know it yet! There is always a place for someone that would like to give of his or her time no mater how much or how little. There are many needs within our organization and without a doubt we can find something that will fit you just right.

  • Experience in canine or feline behavior management could qualify you to be a trainer or advisor within our organization.
  • Maybe you’re good with computers we need people to maintain contact lists, mailing lists, and perform other various computer duties.
  • You might prefer to remain in the background there are many behind-the-scenes duties like letter writing, office and secretarial duties, or maintaining records.
  • If you have a special talent or skill why not put it to work for AFL? How about Marketing? Advertising? Phone work? Maybe even poster and sign construction.

Whatever your talent we can put it to work to benefit the many needy animals coming through our organization.

Unable To Volunteer In Person?

If you find yourself unable to volunteer in person but still want to make a difference in the lives of our homeless pets you may want to consider a monetary or supply/equipment donation. It takes a substantial investment to bring many of our animals back to health and keep them healthy and fed. We strive for 100% spay/neuter for all of our fosters so our vet bills are always substantial.

Visit our Adoption Information page to see a breakdown of average costs and expenses for our animals. We are a 100% all volunteer organization and all money donated goes directly toward the health and welfare of the animals we foster. Because we are a 501(C)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization all donations are tax deductible.

Visit our Donate page and see if there is anything on it you might have around your home that you may be able to donate to us. All donations monetary, supplies or equipment – no matter how small are always appreciated and we will make arrangements to pick them up at your convenience.
