Xena is a very sweet girl. We are not for certain but she doesn’t appear to be mixed with another breed.  She loves to run and is very intelligent.  Her previous owners situation changed and this is how Xena came to our home and became our foster dog.

Her previous owners got her when she was around 6 months old. Around February, when she turned 1, she got pregnant. In April 2017 she delivered a lot of Lab/Saint Bernard puppies.  Ms. Xena was spayed in June.  We got her in late September and she has been vetted and brought up to date on her vaccines.

Xena doesn’t appear to have had any puppy training. She will need a patient and experienced dog owner as she is 86 lbs., lacks basic commands and has not been socialized a lot with other dogs. She is still very young and very trainable.  We are currently working on learning how to walk on a leash, how to sit and how to stay.  She is kennel trained, which took a few days of routine, good reinforcement and a snacks (she is food motivated). We are working on potty training as she still continues to have accidents in the house.  She knows “Go to bed” means go to her kennel. When she is tired or wants to rest, she will go to her kennel.  She rides well in the car & loves to run and play.

We have children, dogs and cats in the home, all of which she has adjusted to. She loves our two dogs, they are both her age and she loves having someone to play with.  Other than the few things she needs to be taught, Xena is a beautiful, and very smart. She will be a great dog with a bit of routine and some basic training.  She will need a fenced in yard or a invisible fence (which she used to be on with her previous owners).

She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, on Heart worm preventative and flea medication.  If you are interested or would like to meet her fill out an application below.
